Recurring

justin spicer This is far more pop-oriented than I was expecting, but nowhere near sacrificing the weird and experimental from Baugh’s past. To claim surprise for Recurring is an understatement, I am astonished. Favorite track: Ascending from the Basement.

about

Escorted through corridors of memory. This is a rebirth and a reimagining of themes I've been working on for years. Dream imagery, automatic writing, and psychological landscapes are distilled into fragmented song forms and sound collages. Themes return to me like old friends in worn out clothes and smeared makeup. This is my private ritual viewed through an open window.

"This is far more pop-oriented than I was expecting, but nowhere near sacrificing the weird and experimental from Baugh’s past. To claim surprise for Recurring is an understatement, I am astonished."
-Justin Spicer (Cerberus Vol.3)

"Piano passages mourn the tightening of the visual field as if the world is closing in, darkening the edges. Howling synth leads reach out, hoping someone else will volunteer to stay behind as Baugh’s voice emerges as comfort. The chord progressions are deeply affecting, wrapping you up in this floating sonic world."
-Brad Rose (Foxy Digitalis #7)

"Layers are peeled off and then reapplied giving the album a frayed atmosphere. Nerves are exposed and emotions are laid bare on the album but Baugh instead feels liberated. Recurring is a rebirth and rejuvenation for Baugh and anyone else who dare listen."
-Will Miller (Sound as Language)
